Presented to the colleges and our Wairarapa community, we raise awareness about Rape and Sexual Abuse, and educate on prevention.
The programme, held over 2-3 sessions (45-50 minutes each), includes:
Definitions, including what is Rape and Sexual Abuse.
Consent (verbal/ non-verbal) – how to recognise if you have/ don't have consent.
Technology – social networking, digital sharing, keeping your information safe.
Short movie on Hannah and Mark.
Student-lead questions are gathered anonymously.
Students' anonymous questions are answered by us and a Detective.
Scenarios relevant to students’ lives today.
Boundaries.
Bystander intervention – how to do this safely.
Disclosures – how to get support for yourself or for someone else.
Who is Our Education For?
We aim to present this education to all Year 10-13s in the Wairarapa. This includes presenting in colleges, as well as youth groups and community groups working with youth.
