Compassionate Support for Survivors and Their Whānau
At Wairarapa Rape & Sexual Abuse Collective Inc., we provide free, confidential support for anyone in our community who has been directly or indirectly affected by rape and sexual abuse. We offer a range of specialised services designed to help survivors heal, raise awareness, and prevent further harm within our community.
What we offer
We provide specialist 24-hour free & confidential crisis support and information to anyone who has been affected by sexual harm, recent or historic, including their whānau/families and friends. Our professional assistance and support is culturally-appropriate and non-judgemental.
We also provide:
Social Work and crisis support - ongoing support to meet clients' needs
Advocacy and referral services - assistance with medical processes, court, Police and referring to appropriate agencies
Prevention and awareness education to schools
All services are free & confidential.

Services
We advocate on behalf of survivors, providing support during medical processes, court proceedings, and police interactions. We also refer clients to appropriate agencies for additional support services.
Crisis
Support
We provide 24/7 free and confidential crisis support, offering immediate assistance to those affected by recent or historic sexual violence. Our services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual and their whānau (family).
Social Work & Ongoing Support
We offer ongoing support through social work services to help survivors meet their needs throughout their recovery journey. Our support includes assistance with emotional healing and practical needs.
Who we work with

Children/Tamariki
We work with children who have experienced sexual harm, providing a safe and understanding environment for their recovery.

Youth/Rangatahi
We support youth in navigating the complex effects of sexual violence, empowering them with the tools they need to heal.

Adults/Pakeke
We support adults who are survivors of sexual violence, as well as to parents and caregivers seeking guidance on how to best support their loved ones.
Service Area
We provide services across the Wairarapa region, including Tararua, and are committed to supporting individuals from all walks of life within this area.

Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (appointments can be made outside office hours)

S.A.V.E. Sexual Abuse Violence Education) Programme
Our S.A.V.E. programme hosted by the team at Wairarapa Rape and Sexual Abuse Inc. is a sexual violence education initiative designed to raise awareness and provide prevention education for schools and community groups in the Wairarapa.
This programme is designed for Year 10-13 students and is delivered over 2-3 sessions.
National Rape & Sexual Abuse Crisis Line 0800 88 33 00
In addition to our local services, we manage the National Rape & Sexual Abuse Crisis Line (0800 88 33 00), providing confidential support to survivors of sexual violence across Aotearoa New Zealand.
This service is available 24/7, offering emotional support, counselling, information, and advocacy to survivors and those seeking help for themselves or a loved one.
